You aren’t really living if you’re not in constant search for somewhere new. And with all the endless possibilities, I found myself somewhere down the road in Barsha Heights for the launch of the new ‘Somewhere Hotel‘. Somewhere new for the night, somewhere new for a bite, somewhere new to unwind, somewhere new to pass the time. From dinner to dancing to breakfast in bed, Somewhere Hotel had something to make our weekend stay a comfortable home away from home experience.
After an exhaustive two weeks, I finally got the best sleep in a long time, nestled in the comfort of warm covers, fluffy pillows and a firm bed at the Somewhere Hotel. I can also blame my good night’s rest on the hotel room’s contemporary and minimalist interior made up of sleek grays and cool blues, a color that is known to have a calming effect on the psyche.
When on a staycation, we always try to fit a visit to the pool into our day. There is something that draws me to the water, despite being a self-confessed bad swimmer, it’s the promise of solace, the feeling of weightlessness, or just a break from dry land for a while. So with my little man in tow, we spent a good hour frolicking in the pool.
From the cool blue and monochrome interiors of the hotels rooms, to the warm pastels in harmony with the wood panels in the hotel lobby, Somewhere Hotel had an inviting characteristic that made stepping inside a very pleasant welcome. And surprise surprise, I ran into my good friend Melody at the Somewhere Hotel and had the chance to catch-up with an intimate tête-à-tête. XOXO, Gossip Girl.
Dinner was served in the All-day Dining Restaurant ‘Nay’, a Mediterranean Lounge and Bar. My pick list from the spread that was generously laid out on our table was the Shrimp Cocktail, Crispy Dynamite Shrimp, Chicken Roll and Mini Kibbeh. And for the main course we couldn’t say ‘nay’ to two succulent steaks on a bed of creamy risotto. We topped it off with a glass of white wine that complemented the Caramelized Pear with Lemon Tart dessert. But the happy ending didn’t end there. After dinner, we made our way to The Clavichord Bar for some cocktails and danced the night away to jazzy beats from the resident live band.
