From Work To Play | The Look Bureau x Cotton On

The best thing about Ramadan is that I get a few extra hours each day after work to spend with my little man while the sun is still up. Even though I am not a Muslim myself, I have lived in Dubai long enough (over 20 years) to have witnessed and in part, experienced the holy month of Ramadan. It is a time of reflection, of giving, of gratitude and self-control, and as tradition, friends and family feast together during Iftar, taking the opportunity to reconnect and reconcile with those dear to them.

With summer having settled in, since Ramadan calls for a more conservative dress-code, it may be quite a task to choose an outfit that won’t make you feel like a walking sauna. Luckily, for those of us who live in Dubai, we enjoy some liberties when it comes to fashion. As long as you keep your bare shoulders and above the knee under wraps, you’re good to go!

For the first time on The Look Bureau, we’re bringing you a mother and son collaboration with looks from the Cotton On Ladies and Kids Summer Collection. Our first outfits in tandem for the week is a smart casual ensemble. I’m wearing a tie-dye chambray bodycon dress in breathable cotton with a lightweight white dress shirt that has a coat-tail detail in the back, which I kept open for a more laidback appearance. For an off-duty look, the dress shirt is a versatile piece that would look good with jeans, a skirt or over a sun-dress by tying the ends together in front. My son Frey Skylar, is twinning polkadots, in a detailed cuff white button-down shirt and chambray linen shorts.
