When you’ve taken your baby steps on the sands of Dubai and watched it transform from sandy streets to concrete pavements and infinite skyscrapers, it becomes your home and home is where the heart is. Having grown up and started a family in this beautiful city, I can’t imagine raising my child anywhere else but here.
Though it may sometimes feels like a furnace during Summer in Dubai, which is something you never really get used to, I still love my city! In extreme temperatures, little kids are less able to regulate their body temperature compared to adults, so choose comfort without sacrificing style by dressing them in shirts made from breathable material and shorts for the summer.
In our second looks from the Cotton On Summer Collection, my son is spoting a pale teal shirt with contrast buttons and burgundy drawstring shorts. And I’m clad in an asymmetrical tie-dye swing dress that can be worn with a belt to cinch the waist for a day in the city or worn freely as a cover-up by the beach. Tie-dye is all the rage this season in silhouettes that range from bodycons to maxis. The tie-dye has come a long way from festival wear in the 60s, to grungy 90s street style and has now made a modern comeback that’s more monochromatic, subdued and minimalistic.
