The most challenging part of dressing your baby bump is wearing outerwear that will actually close, as buttoning up your coat often creates a more polished look of formality compared to the casual laid-back open blazer.

At 4.5 months into my pregnancy, it’s the perfect time to wear a peplum blazer while my belly isn’t quite big enough to make the peplum appear like a tutu above my waist. A peplum that starts at your high waist and ends directly above your hip bone is the most flattering as it gives you an hourglass shape and even camouflages your baby bump. Not that I would purposely try to hide my baby bump, as I’m a proud baby mama!

With this look I kept accessories to a minimum, wearing a large flower brooch over the fastening of my blazer and added a pop of color to the monochrome ensemble with a pair of fuschia pink court shoes. I’ve set aside my towering heels and traded them in for more comfortable mid-size heels from Marks & Spencer, which I raided about a week ago and bought 3 pairs!
